About the position

Leads the development and execution of strategic communication initiatives that support Adventist Health's payer strategies and managed care efforts. Creates clear, compelling, and audience-specific content across multiple platforms to influence payer negotiations, educate patients, engage internal stakeholders, and strengthen brand reputation. Partners closely with executive leaders, payer strategy teams, and systemwide marketing and communications to ensure alignment, consistency, and measurable impact of messaging. Leads cross-functional communications planning, managing deliverables from concept to execution, and continuously optimizing efforts through data-driven insights.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses organizational needs around payer strategy initiatives and develops and implements communication strategy, plans and tactics from inception to results measurement.
  • Ensures projects are delivered on time and within budget with excellent communication to partners.
  • Synthesizes data and feedback to refine communication approaches, assess effectiveness, and adjust plans to improve engagement and outcomes.
  • Builds strong relationships with internal stakeholders (payer strategy, legal, finance, care delivery, marketing) to ensure alignment and accuracy of communications.
  • Manages external partners or vendors as needed, ensuring high-quality deliverables that align with brand and strategic goals.
  • Prepares executive-level communications, including board and C-suite presentations, talking points, Q&As, and briefing documents related to payer positioning.
  • Develops and executes marketing campaigns and community-facing messaging as needed based on organizational priorities.
  • Manages tactics and budgets working closely with graphic design team and agency partner.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness to evolving organizational needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing, communication or related field or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
  • Master's Degree in business, healthcare administration or related field: Preferred
  • Five years' experience in marketing and communication roles: Preferred
  • One year of leadership experience: Preferred
  • Experience in a healthcare system, hospital, or similarly complex organization or highly regulated industry: Preferred
