Aurora’s Product and Development Operations team is making the technology of the future a reality. We are at the fore-front of technology, providing thought partnership to product, operations & engineering and ensuring commercial operations capabilities are delivered on time, safely and efficiently. We are looking for a Pittsburgh based Manager - Product Operations Planning to join our team and oversee the coordination and planning of all on-site Verification and Validation (V&V) activities. In this role you will collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure on-site V&V activities are delivered, develop & deliver our testing strategy and lead a team of Product Operations Program managers, overseeing and coordinating day-to-day development activities. If you have experience leading teams, can navigate through complex project landscapes, champion problem-solving, communicate clearly, and juggle various priorities in a fast-paced environment, this role is for you!

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of product operations program managers
  • Develop testing strategies and plans, balancing development requirements against business resources
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, operations, and customer teams to define and validate verification and validation strategies
  • Work with senior stakeholders to ensure we have sufficient resources to meet our development demand
  • Lead project planning, resource allocation, and scheduling to ensure timely and efficient deployment
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to address potential challenges
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to understand their requirements, provide technical expertise, and offer solutions
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through retrospectives and proposing process changes

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in a technology-focused role such as Product Management, Product Operations, Business Strategy, Product Commercialization, Technical Program Management, or Sales Strategy and Operations
  • BA/BS degree in operations management, technical subject (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering), or equivalent practical experience in a technical field
  • Experience leading teams
  • Experience in developing testing and resource strategies
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams and external partners

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the autonomous vehicle, automotive, trucking, transportations, and (or) logistics industry
  • Experience planning and coordinating development activities
  • Experience working with early technology in a startup environment
  • Prior experience in managing concurrent programs
