About the position

The Marketing Analyst I opportunity is an integral part of a dynamic marketing team. The Marketing Analyst I provides foundational support to the marketing department and enterprise by assisting in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of marketing data. This entry-level role involves working closely with the VP of Marketing, marketing team and other departments to help monitor performance, track trends, and provide insights to optimize marketing strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Actively cares, promotes, manages, and advocates safety at Western States.
  • Maintains clean/clutter free work areas to ensure safe environment for all WSECO employees.
  • Adhering to required personal protective equipment (PPE) as identified in safety policy.
  • Assists in gathering data from multiple marketing channels (email, social media, website traffic, SEO, PPC, etc.) and compile detailed reports for campaign performance.
  • Performs routine analysis of marketing data from internal and external sources, identifying key trends, patterns, and anomalies to improve decision-making.
  • Supports the tracking and reporting of KPIs for ongoing marketing campaigns, ensuring that metrics align with the business goals.
  • Conducts basic market research to evaluate customer behaviors, preferences, and competitive positioning.
  • Works with cross-functional teams to understand marketing goals and contribute to data-driven recommendations for improvements.
  • Maintains proficiency in key analytics and reporting tools, ensuring accurate and efficient data handling.
  • Assists with basic A/B testing and experiments to optimize marketing strategies.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Marketing, Business, Data Analytics or related field.
  • Minimum of six months experience in marketing analysis, data analysis, or a related field required, 2 years preferred.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Analytics, and data visualization tools.
  • Solid understanding of marketing principles and digital marketing concepts (SEO, SEM, content marketing, etc.).
  • Familiarity with marketing automation tools (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics Customer Insights & Journeys) and CRM platforms.
  • Strong ability to learn new software tools quickly and efficiently.
  • Basic data interpretation and the ability to recognize trends in data.
  • Strong analytical mindset with a curiosity to learn and grow.
  • Ability to travel overnight.
  • Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write in English), Spanish would be a plus.
