About the position

The Marketing & Communications Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the quality and effectiveness of all client and internal communications. This position encompasses a range of responsibilities, from meticulous quality assurance and content creation to account management and social media execution. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with excellent writing and communication skills, a passion for social media, and a knack for building strong client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Meticulously proofread, edit, and quality-check all client-facing and internal materials, including documents, websites, presentations, print ads, social media content, press releases, and more, ensuring accuracy and consistency in grammar, style, and branding.
  • Create compelling and informative descriptive content for website items and contribute to smaller writing projects as needed.
  • Oversee contracted client services, maintain strong client relationships, and effectively execute client requests and feedback.
  • Draft and distribute press releases to promote client events, achievements, and news.
  • Develop and execute engaging social media strategies, including content creation, graphic design (basic proficiency), scheduling, community engagement, and performance tracking.
  • Manage and optimize business listings across various platforms and monitor online reviews, addressing feedback as needed.
  • Develop and distribute engaging email newsletters to client audiences.
  • Perform website updates and edits as required.
  • Oversee and contribute to blog content creation.
  • Contribute to the overall management of client accounts and marketing projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in proofreading, editing, and content creation.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and best practices.
  • Experience in account management or client relations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic graphic design skills and experience with design tools a plus.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong project management skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with website editing and content management systems.
  • Familiarity with business listing and review management platforms.
