About the position

As the Marketing and Customer Development Manager, Pharma NA at dsm-firmenich, you’ll lead the development and execution of bold, strategic marketing plans for the North American pharmaceutical and OTC markets. You’ll dig into market trends, shape compelling campaigns, and collaborate across teams to bring big ideas to life. With a strong focus on our Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) and Taste solutions portfolios, you’ll help turn insights into action and drive meaningful growth in a fast-moving, science-driven space. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement regional strategic marketing plans for the Pharma and OTC segments, aligned with global strategies, while managing the full marketing mix including positioning, messaging, promotion, and product focus
  • Liaise with the Global Pharma Marketing and Business Development team on growth plans, strategic accounts, and conferences, while representing North America on the Pharma Leadership Team to shape the future of Pharma
  • Analyze market trends, unmet needs, and the competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities, shape innovation strategy, and support the development of alternative business models that create mutual value with customers
  • Lead new business development and innovation initiatives, including conference strategy and execution, while collaborating cross-functionally with sales, regulatory, technical development, and legal teams to support claims development and business goals
  • Build and maintain a strong network of industry contacts to enhance the dsm-firmenich brand presence and support long-term growth in the Pharma and OTC markets
  • Leverage the global dsm-firmenich network to share best practices, manage global customer relationships, and implement the Pharma Strategy in North America

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of B2B marketing or business development experience in the science-based pharmaceutical ingredient industry
  • Proven success in developing and executing B2B marketing strategies, including positioning, innovation, and competitive differentiation
  • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical, OTC, including APIs and excipients
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and work cross-functionally in a matrix organization; experience working internationally or cross-culturally a plus
  • Project management experience with the ability to manage multiple priorities and travel up to 40% domestically (occasional international travel may be required)
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably technically oriented; Master’s in Business or Marketing preferred, with strong business and financial acumen. Technical education in chemistry, biochemistry, formulation science, or pharmaceutical science a plus
