About the position

This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Marketing Facility at Robins AFB. This position does not offer benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in developing and implementing marketing programs for the Services Squadron.
  • Under the direction of the Marketing Director, assists in determining marketing techniques and strategies to increase efficiency, enhance participation and increase financial income to Services activities.
  • Assists in conducting qualitative and quantitative market research.
  • Administers surveys, collects data, tabulates responses, and assists in analyzing results.
  • Keeps the Marketing Director informed of consumer trends and their application to the activities.
  • Makes recommendations on program modifications and enhancements.
  • Attends major Services Squadron events and provides constructive marketing feedback to the activity manager.
  • Assists in conducting advertising campaigns.
  • Obtains information on upcoming events, special programs and offers for activity managers.
  • Assists the Marketing Director in developing communication strategies to determine the most effective and efficient method of reaching the target market.
  • Makes recommendations to activity managers on the design of effective advertising vehicles and appropriate media mix.
  • Assists in planning marketing campaigns designed to enhance participation in Services activities by considering the characteristics of the target audience and the media mix necessary to reach them.
  • Assists in conducting media relations with on- and off-base media in concert with the Public Affairs Office.
  • Provides or arranges for photographic support for Services functions.
  • Prepares and presents briefings to base functions such as Newcomer's Orientation and Commander's Call.
  • Assists with Commercial Sponsorship and Commercial Advertising.
  • Compiles list of viable annual events and programs to seek commercial sponsorship.
  • Assists in the development of solicitation packet and solicit sponsorship from local, regional, national and international sponsors.
  • Negotiates mutually beneficial sponsorship terms and executes all supporting documents.
  • Coordinates with the installation's Staff Judge Advocate to ensure the terms of each sponsorship agreement follows all procedural guidance, regulations and policies.
  • Ensures AF and sponsor compliance with sponsorship agreement.
  • Attends events and serves as a point of contact for sponsors at the event.
  • Compiles and provides sponsors with copies of subsequent publicity and develops appropriate thank-you letters and after-action reports.
  • Stays current on all aspects of administration of the Commercial Sponsorship and Advertising program.
  • Works under the direction of the Marketing Director to help plan, develop, deploy, and maintain 78th Force Support Squadron website, digital content, social media content development and management.
  • Assists with creation of marketing collateral, surveys, graphics, photography/videography and campaigns.
  • Serves as primary web/social media and digital content administrator, ensuring content is current and accurate.
  • Updates, adds, deletes, backups/restores, and revises content based on information provided by the Marketing Office or approved input from leadership on daily basis.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Degree with emphasis in business, marketing, communications and/or web design is strongly desired.
  • Experience which provides a general knowledge of marketing/advertising principles and practices.
  • Experience must demonstrate the ability to perform research, select, arrange and compose material and maintain well-organized files.
  • Must have specialized experience which demonstrates the ability to design and layout advertising copy and artwork using desktop publishing software, word processing and other software.
  • Experience developing, conducting and analyzing market research information.
  • Skilled in Adobe Suites (Photoshop, Lightroom, PremierPro, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.), Microsoft applications.
  • Efficient DSLR camera/video.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Must possess skill in dealing with customers and the public.
