About the position

The Marketing Coordinator oversees the marketing department, manages the strategic marketing projects, executing initiatives, and aligning departmental activities with organizational objectives. This role directs graphic design, social media, field marketing, promotional strategies, and internal communications, while exercising independent judgement and discretion to ensure departmental stability, brand integrity, and overall marketing effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes high-level marketing strategies that directly support organizational goals, applying independent judgment in planning, prioritizing, and resource allocation.
  • Leads the marketing department's strategic planning process, setting objectives, defining key initiatives, and ensuring alignment with business priorities.
  • Oversees departmental operations, including directing weekly team meetings, assigning cross-functional projects, and managing deadlines with minimal oversight.
  • Acts as a strategic partner to senior leadership, translating corporate vision into actionable marketing plans and performance metrics.
  • Exercises discretion in reviewing, approving, and guiding the creation of brand assets and creative content across digital, print, and retail environments to maintain consistency and brand integrity.
  • Manages internal team members and external vendors, ensuring execution of marketing deliverables in accordance with established brand and business standards.
  • Directs brand positioning efforts, ensuring alignment with corporate values, audience insights, and market trends.
  • Plans and oversees execution of in-store activations, product demonstrations, and customer engagement initiatives, evaluating effectiveness through strategic performance metrics.
  • Provides high-level oversight of social media strategy, including content direction, performance analytics, and platform optimization to increase audience engagement and brand visibility.
  • Independently develops and executes internal and external communication strategies, including promotional campaigns, press releases, and stakeholder messaging.
  • Serves as the key relationship manager for both internal stakeholders (e.g., Retail, Purchasing, Executive Leadership) and external partners (e.g., media outlets, agencies, influencers), acting with authority and strategic discretion.
  • Analyzes marketing data to identify trends, measure ROI, and make strategic recommendations that directly inform leadership decisions and future campaigns.
  • Continuously evaluates and refines departmental strategy and operations using performance insights and business intelligence tools.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in marketing management, communications, or related strategic marketing role.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, social media management, and analytics tools.
  • Experience in cannabis retail, consumer goods, or regulated industries preferred.
