About the position

Discovery Life Sciences is seeking a visionary and data-driven Marketing Director to lead the strategic planning and execution of marketing initiatives across its Specialty Lab Services division. This role is responsible for driving market awareness, increasing share across key sectors-including biopharma, diagnostics, and life sciences-and aligning marketing efforts with Discovery's overarching growth strategy. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership in thought development, integrated communications, and cross-functional collaboration, while managing high-impact marketing programs that translate scientific excellence into commercial success.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and champion a bold marketing strategy that elevates Discovery's Specialty Lab Services in the marketplace.
  • Leverage high performing thought leadership strategies for content development and commercial growth opportunities.
  • Establish and grow market share for target markets including biopharma, diagnostic, contract research and life science companies throughout all stages of drug discovery, development, clinical trials and commercialization.
  • Provide high level overviews and presentation of specialty lab services marketing performance to executive leadership.
  • Work collaboratively within the marketing team, cross-functional teams, and 3rd party contractors to effectively execute marketing strategies and tactics.
  • Work with Chief Marketing Officer on development of KPIs that drive increased market share and market awareness.
  • Develop and manage specialty lab services marketing budget.
  • Collaborate with client facing teams to develop impactful voice of customer strategies, observe competitive market trends, and other market research initiatives.
  • Develop innovative marketing communications including data-driven, scientific marketing collateral, advertising, public relations, social media and other marketing communications as needed.
  • Train internal commercial, sales operation and business development teams on new services and marketing initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related marketing, science, or equivalent field required.
  • 8 years' experience marketing similar services to biopharma, diagnostic or life science industries in director level or product manager roles.
  • Experience within the clinical diagnostics field or within a field of genomics, proteomics, or molecular pathology preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of the biopharma and biotech landscape, including market trends, competitive analysis, and customer insights.
  • Strong expertise in marketing strategies working cross-functional stakeholders to effectively communicate value propositions and differentiate services in the market.
  • Proficient in developing and executing multi-channel marketing campaigns, including digital marketing, content marketing, events, and partnerships.
  • Extensive experience leading cross-functional marketing initiatives to achieve business objectives and drive revenue growth.
  • Familiarity with applicable regulatory guidelines.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce required.
