About the position

The Local Officer Marketing & Communications for North America position with a focus on events & fairs for the business stream Products is part of the regional M&C team for NAM/SAM (North and South America). The position is managed on a disciplinary basis by the Senior Regional Manager M&C NAM/SAM who has reports directly to the global office Marketing & Communications based in Cologne, Germany.

Responsibilities

  • Executing local marketing activities to drive business success.
  • Managing events and fairs, including on-site management.
  • Planning, implementing and following up on events and trade fair projects in line with quality, budget and time requirements.
  • Project management, developing creative concepts, coordinating internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring excellent customer service.
  • Taking responsibility for and managing regional and local projects, primarily in North America.
  • Ensuring excellent customer service by understanding the needs of internal customers and upstream units.
  • Developing clear and actionable recommendations for decision-makers.
  • Coordinating internal and external services and preparing briefings for external service providers for large events.
  • Creating and maintaining trade fair and event guidelines and developing and sharing best practices/tools.
  • Development and presentation of event/trade fair concepts.
  • Executing the local marketing strategy in line with the global and regional marketing strategies.
  • Supporting, executing and managing local marketing activities.
  • Liaising and coordinating with all local and regional stakeholders.
  • Setting up and executing campaigns, tracking leads using marketing automation tools.
  • Performing ongoing analysis of the performance of marketing activities and optimizing them.
  • Creating content and planning communication activities.
  • Supporting local communication in adherence to local communication governance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years' marketing experience, ideally B2B in a Group.
  • Excellent English skills (writing and speaking, C1), other languages an advantage.
  • Good knowledge and experience of inbound and performance marketing as well as SEM, SEO and social media/mechanisms.
  • Excellent proven communication, project management, presentation and self-motivation skills.
  • Strong experience with marketing automation (such as Eloqua, Salesforce) as well as MS Office.
  • Ability to communicate and work with all levels of an organization comfortably.
  • Solid knowledge in creative tools like Adobe.
  • Willingness to travel.
