About the position

Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. Working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to take on big picture challenges. As someone who knows the workings of the core Finance team inside and out, you'll lead individual projects to transform planning, tracking and control processes. You'll provide senior level management with insightful recommendations, planning and reporting support. In this role, you will be instrumental in providing a holistic view of marketing investments, enabling informed decision-making at the executive level. You will work on process management, data aggregation, and communication. You will run queries, create insightful reports, capture messages, and distill them into executive summaries. The name Google came from 'googol,' a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and orchestrate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial planning cycles, providing visibility into Google's marketing spend and resource allocation decisions.
  • Act as a business partner to various marketing teams, managing purchase orders, overseeing cost management, reporting on budgets, and contributing to financial planning.
  • Become the aggregator and synthesizer of financial data, working across products and business units to compile a consolidated view of marketing performance.
  • Develop and refine essential financial processes and reporting frameworks, focusing on efficiency and quality. You will coordinate with risk and compliance teams to ensure communication and implementation.
  • Produce executive summaries, transforming financial data and messages into insights for leadership. Identify, measure and analyze performance metrics to provide guidance and insights, and drive improvements in marketing effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP and A), consulting, or a related field, or an advanced degree.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with building financial reporting, produce analysis, implementing monitoring and implementing reporting solutions.
  • Experience in developing strategies in engaging environments with excellent business judgment for resource allocation decisions to achieve the business goals.
  • Experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI).
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Ability to work with data to produce analysis, collaborate in decision making with numerical analysis and generating insights.
