About the position
Our new bakery is looking for an energetic, creative, and outgoing Marketer to help grow our presence in the Virginia Beach community! This part-time role is perfect for someone who thrives on making genuine connections, coordinating meaningful local events, and bringing our joyful brand to life—both in and out of the bakery. You'll bring extroverted energy to balance out our bakery team (we're swarming with introverts), and make lasting impacts on our community by bringing joy through cake. You’ll coordinate with our bakery management team to plan and attend offsite events, manage donation and fundraising requests, build relationships with local businesses, and create engaging content. You’ll manage our social media accounts and work with the bakery team to promote offers, events, and community involvement. There may be opportunities for hybrid work for the right candidate! Offsite events include bonus earning potential based on sales.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and attend offsite events, partnerships, and fundraising
- Build and maintain B2B relationships with local businesses and organizations
- Assist with large order coordination for corporate clients and special events
- Manage donation and fundraiser requests with professionalism and follow-through
- Create social media content regularly—including graphics, photos, captions, reels/stories—and schedule/manage posts
- Monitor social channels, respond to guest comments/messages, and track engagement
- Track community engagement efforts and offsite sales using provided tools
- Support in-bakery activities such as flavor launches, major holidays, guest events, and giveaways
- Maintain a hygienic, clean, polished personal appearance and professional vehicle at all times
Requirements
- Experience with Canva or other graphic design and social media marketing
- Some experience in Marketing or equivalent preferred
- Must be outgoing, personable, and confident in both one-on-one and group settings
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
- Vehicle and personal appearance must be clean
- Must be prepared for a flexible, event-driven schedule, that may include early mornings, evenings, holidays, and weekends
- Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently and proactively
- Comfortable working both offsite and in the bakery as needed
- Must be 18+ to work with most bakery equipment
