About the position

The Marketing/PR Manager works directly with the Director of Sales & Marketing to manage the development, implementation and oversight of Marketing and PR strategies. Responsible for managing website, email campaigns, print collateral, public relations, social media and other supporting marketing channels for the hotel. Responsible for entertaining and maintaining relationships with existing marketing partners, suppliers, OTA Account Executives, media, local influencers as well as building new relationships to generate revenue for the hotel. Work with Corporate Director of Communications to develop and execute the hotel's overall strategic public relations programs including but not limited to; media relations, community relations, and internal communications, in conjunction with corporate directives.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate and execute rooms focused Marketing and PR initiatives including print/digital promotions, email campaigns, and social media planning.
  • Formulate and execute Food & Beverage related Marketing and PR initiatives such as menu designs and social media updates.
  • Formulate and execute Spa and Retail related Marketing and PR initiatives including special offers and media pitching.
  • Provide general support for the Director of Sales & Marketing including answering inquiries and attending meetings.
  • Assist in managing outside PR agency and media visits.
  • Manage website content and conduct monthly audits.
  • Work with Corporate Digital Marketing Manager on media planning and SEO.
  • Conduct budget analysis and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with revenue management to monitor online listings and position rates.
  • Manage URL listings and execute email marketing programs.
  • Assist with direct mail campaigns and online newsletters.
  • Plan and coordinate special events and customer appreciation activities.
  • Serve as brand representative and promote brand equity.
  • Support execution of marketing communication across various channels.
  • Manage communication with third party vendors.
  • Develop and manage strategic campaigns to achieve revenue goals.
  • Build partnerships with local organizations to increase brand awareness.
  • Participate in planning and yearly calendar programming.
  • Represent the hotel at industry/community functions.
  • Assist with reports and competition data collection.

Requirements

  • High school or equivalent education required; Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 2-5 years' experience in marketing, advertising, branding, public relations, and social media strategy.
  • Computer proficiency and strong administrative skills.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage menus and preparation.
  • Ability to communicate in the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent inter-personal and sales/marketing experience.
  • Exceptional organizational and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Sales ability in both oral and written form.
  • Basic computational ability and computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Opera.
  • Ability to establish and master goals.
