About the position

Healthy Community Health Centers (HCHC) has proudly served the City of Harrisonburg, Rockingham County, and surrounding areas as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). We provide comprehensive, compassionate, and patient-centered care to approximately 15,000 individuals annually. Our services include adult and pediatric primary care, acute and chronic disease management, preventive and wellness care, women’s health including prenatal and postnatal services, HIV/AIDS support, behavioral health services, community resource coordination and translation services, outreach and enrollment assistance, pharmacy collaboration and medication cost support, and transportation assistance. HCHC is seeking an experienced and passionate Medical Director to lead and support our provider team. This physician leader will play a pivotal role in shaping clinical strategies, fostering team excellence, and delivering high-quality care to our community.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision and mentorship to HCHC’s medical provider team
  • Oversee clinical quality and performance improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with leadership on clinical workflows, compliance, and best practices
  • Deliver patient care consistent with evidence-based medicine (for full-time position)
  • Represent HCHC in medical and community leadership forums

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree with board certification in Family Medicine
  • Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in Virginia (or eligibility)
  • DEA licensure
  • Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Must meet all physical and cognitive demands of the role
  • Not sanctioned under Medicare or Medicaid
