About the position

Acts as a steward of public trust and an agent of the Gunnison County Clerk and Recorder’s Office and the State of Colorado. A variety of routine and complex clerical/secretarial work will be performed while enforcing compliance with statutory, mandates, and Department of Revenue directives governing motor vehicle titling and registration as well as recording, preservation, and indexing of all publicly recorded documents in compliance with internal controls, policies, procedures, and standards. This position may also assist with election duties throughout the year via voter registration/updates, working at Voter Service Polling Centers, learning and assisting with the operation of voting equipment and software.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and complex clerical/secretarial work.
  • Enforce compliance with statutory mandates and Department of Revenue directives.
  • Manage motor vehicle titling and registration.
  • Record, preserve, and index all publicly recorded documents.
  • Assist with election duties, including voter registration and updates.
  • Work at Voter Service Polling Centers.
  • Learn and assist with the operation of voting equipment and software.

Requirements

  • Must possess a valid Colorado driver’s license.
  • Must complete ICS 100 and ICS 200 within the first year of employment.
  • Complete and obtain a Colorado Notary Public certificate via online training within three (3) months of employment.
  • Job offer is contingent upon successful passing of a Colorado Bureau of Investigation background check.

Nice-to-haves
