About the position

As a pivotal member of the Rock Pros USA sales team, the Outside Sales Representative is responsible for aggressively driving revenue growth and cultivating strong, lasting customer relationships within the decorative rock miner/supplier industry. This role demands a proactive hunter mentality, a passion for outside sales, and exceptional relationship-building skills in the field. Deep product knowledge and the ability to conduct impactful on-site consultations are critical for success.

Responsibilities

  • Aggressively prospect and qualify new leads within the defined target markets (architects, developers, contractors, etc.) through various methods, including cold calling, networking, and leveraging industry contacts.
  • Conduct frequent, strategic in-person visits to client sites, offices, and project locations to establish strong rapport, understand their specific project needs, and identify opportunities for Rock Pros USA products.
  • Cultivate and maintain robust, long-term relationships with key decision-makers, influencers, and stakeholders within client organizations.
  • Actively participate in industry events, trade shows, and targeted networking activities to expand the customer base, generate qualified leads, and enhance Rock Pros USA's presence in the market.
  • Perform thorough on-site evaluations of project sites to accurately assess material requirements and recommend the most suitable Rock Pros USA product solutions.
  • Provide expert-level product knowledge, effectively communicating the unique features, benefits, and applications of Rock Pros USA's extensive inventory.
  • Deliver compelling and tailored presentations to potential clients, clearly articulating the value proposition of Rock Pros USA products and providing relevant physical samples.
  • Generate accurate and timely quotes directly from the jobsite, ensuring all project specifications and pricing are clearly documented.
  • Focus on securing high-volume wholesale orders from architects, developers, and contractors for a wide range of rock and aggregate products.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient processing of sales orders, collaborating seamlessly with the dispatch and operations teams to guarantee timely and accurate delivery of materials.
  • Proactively pursue leads and diligently follow up on outstanding quotes to close sales and consistently achieve or exceed established revenue targets.
  • Identify and capitalize on upselling and cross-selling opportunities within existing and new customer relationships to maximize order value and overall sales revenue.
  • Prepare comprehensive and competitive bids and quotations in response to client inquiries and project specifications, ensuring accuracy and alignment with pricing strategies.
  • Efficiently input and manage sales orders within the designated CRM or order management system.
  • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify emerging trends, potential market opportunities, and evolving customer needs within the rock and aggregate industry.
  • Monitor competitor activities, including pricing strategies, product offerings, and marketing initiatives, to understand the competitive landscape.
  • Provide valuable and actionable market insights to the Sales Manager and leadership team, contributing to the development of effective sales and marketing strategies.
  • Provide direct field feedback regarding product demand, customer preferences, competitive pressures, and any relevant market dynamics.
  • Skillfully negotiate pricing, contract terms, and service agreements with clients to maximize profitability while ensuring customer satisfaction and fostering long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Develop and present persuasive proposals that effectively address customer needs, highlight the unique value proposition of Rock Pros USA products, and clearly outline the terms of engagement.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement effective contract strategies that align with company objectives and mitigate potential risks.
  • Maintain meticulous and up-to-date records of all sales activities, customer interactions, and order details within the designated CRM system.
  • Generate regular and insightful sales reports, analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) and sales metrics to identify areas for improvement and optimize sales strategies.
  • Consistently meet or exceed established sales targets and quotas, demonstrating a strong drive for results and a commitment to achieving sales objectives.
