About the position

The University of Tampa Department of Athletics, a member of the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) and NCAA Division II, is seeking a Part Time Athletics Marketing & Promotions Assistant. This position will support the Director of Sports Marketing & Promotions with duties including but not limited to fan engagement initiatives, game day promotions, social media marketing, student management, and corporate sales.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with game day promotions including contests, giveaways, tabling, and on-field/court activities
  • Collaborate with on-campus departments, organizations, and student clubs to promote events
  • Assist with management of in-game logistics including scripts, video board, and music for various sports
  • Coordinate on and off-campus mascot appearance opportunities
  • Develop and execute marketing campaigns to increase student attendance and fan engagement
  • Assist with sponsorship sales and maintaining positive, long-term relationships with current corporate partners
  • Contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of all cultures and backgrounds.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in or recently graduated from a sport management, marketing, communications or related program
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and verbal/written communication skills with ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • General knowledge of social media platforms including Instagram and TikTok
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends
  • General knowledge of graphic design or video editing software (e.g. Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects) is a plus but not required
  • Knowledge of or the ability to learn quickly The University of Tampa software programs such as Workday and Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to embrace new technologies and innovative organizational practices.

Benefits

  • $20.00 per hour pay rate
  • Part-time schedule may not exceed 29 hours per week/1000 hours per calendar year
  • Flexibility is required; hours may vary weekly
