Part Time Product Development Specialist

About the position

The Product Development Specialist plays a strategic role in managing the development of new products from concept to production. This position involves vendor engagement, design collaboration, and process optimization to ensure high-quality product outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead vendor communications to facilitate product development and resolve production challenges
• Collaborate with designers to refine artwork and ensure feasibility for manufacturing
• Evaluate vendor capabilities and recommend sourcing strategies
• Monitor development timelines and proactively address delays or issues
• Conduct product reviews and quality assessments during development stages
• Support cost analysis and margin improvement initiatives
• May require travel to vendor sites or manufacturing facilities
• Other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in product development, sourcing, in manufacturing/distribution
• Strong project management and problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation abilities
• Familiarity with design software and technical specifications
• Ability to travel occasionally as needed
