Every provider receives a 55-Hour Urgent Care Bootcamp by Hippo Education prior to your first shift, immersive, hands-on orientation in our state-of-the-art, newly built patient simulation lab and corporate training center, and direct mentorship with our clinical educator. You’ll work side-by-side with our clinical educator, evaluating patients together while becoming familiar with our policies, procedures, workflows, and EMR systems. Full-scope clinical training includes realistic scenarios covering everything from URIs and UTIs to running codes, suturing, incision and drainage, EKGs, splinting, and advanced wound management. We also provide orthopedic mastery training using advanced simulation mannequins to practice joint reductions and dislocation management. Our ongoing education and conferences are hosted regularly, and we offer dedicated continuing education PTO so you can learn without losing income.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat urgent care presentations with skill and compassion.
- Perform procedures including suturing, splinting, and incision & drainage.
- Interpret initial digital X-rays with accuracy.
- Work collaboratively with medical assistants, scribes, and fellow providers.
Requirements
- You must hold a current, unrestricted license as a Physician Assistant in the state where this job will be performed.
- A Master's degree is required from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Must be board certified by the AAPA.
- You must have current CPR certification, or be willing to obtain it prior to your start date.
- You need to have DOT certification, or be able to obtain it within the first 30 days of employment.
