Principal Engineer Software (Cloud Identity Engine)

About the position

At Palo Alto Networks, we are seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join our Cloud Identity Engine team. This role involves designing, developing, and delivering next-generation technologies that bridge cloud-based data processing and security disciplines. The ideal candidate will be passionate about coding and building great products, bringing new ideas to all facets of software development. Responsibilities

• Be an integral member of the Cloud Identity Engine team responsible for software architecture, design, and development.
• Work with different development and quality assurance groups to achieve the best quality.
• Suggest and implement improvements to the development process.
• Interview, mentor, and coach junior members on the team.

Requirements

• At least 10+ years of experience in software development, preferably with Python or Javascript/NodeJS.
• Implemented multiple big features in polyglot codebases and can easily visualize the changes required for most features or bug fixes.
• Fast learner and eager to absorb new emerging technologies.
• Able to troubleshoot system-level integration and performance issues.
• High energy and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Working experience with MongoDB, Redis, and RabbitMQ.
• Experience on Cloud platforms such as GCP (GKE) or AWS (EKS) with HELM charts and service mesh.
• Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft EntraID, or Okta.
• Experience with OAuth, SAML/OIDC, or SCIM.
