About the position

As a Principal Product Marketing Manager for the Small Molecule Portfolio, you will own the strategic direction, product lifecycle management, and commercialization efforts for a key segment of our business. This role demands a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical and biotech landscapes, with a focus on small molecule drug development workflows and applications. The ideal candidate will bring strong business acumen, market insight, and technical fluency to deliver high-impact marketing initiatives. This highly visible, global role reports to the Senior Manager of Marketing and Product Management and requires cross-functional leadership across R&D, sales, product management, and field marketing. A self-directed, highly motivated individual with strong business acumen as well as technical and market knowledge would be ideal for this position. Domestic and international travel of up to 30% is required.

Responsibilities

  • Define, develop and implement Small Molecule solutions strategy and roadmap in relation to the greater Waters portfolio and strategy.
  • Develop in-depth, impactful marketing and positioning strategies that differentiate Waters innovative chemistry technology working cross functionally with solutions focus.
  • Develop, orchestrate and lead go-to-market plans.
  • Work closely with cross functional teams on content generation to fulfill marketing campaigns.
  • Work closely with market segments, product owners and scientific teams to execute the Small Molecule roadmap and to drive innovation for complex, high-value product launches.
  • Work with the sales channel to understand adoption barriers, effective deployment of sales enablement resources and gather customer use cases.
  • Generate personas, value propositions and positioning for key areas of responsibility.
  • Develop comprehensive marketing requirements based off voice of the customer and work cross functionally with strategic teams to generate business cases that aid in the justification and prioritization of new products or enhancements.
  • Work closely with field marketing, sales management teams and sales enablement to develop and execute training plans. Prioritize areas of focus by geography.
  • Maintain competitive intelligence and develop appropriate and timely responses for internal and external audiences.

Requirements

  • Minimum BS in a Science or Business related field. MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in a product management, business development or other customer-facing role in a technology domain.
  • Proven track record of implementing 'Go-to- Market' product strategies.
  • Strong Marketing acumen.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
