One of our companies is currently looking for a Principal Software Engineer in the United States. We’re seeking a Principal Software Engineer to help shape the future of a modern, high-performance insurance platform. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of designing scalable services and robust APIs, while also mentoring team members and promoting engineering excellence. You’ll be a key driver of technical decision-making, architectural design, and cross-functional collaboration, ensuring high availability and performance across the platform. Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable backend services and REST APIs for complex systems
  • Lead architectural planning and build high-performance database structures for distributed applications
  • Collaborate across teams to define requirements and build tools for policy, claims, and service integration
  • Ensure system resilience, observability, and performance through continuous optimization
  • Produce clear, well-documented technical plans and champion code quality through code reviews and best practices
  • Mentor engineers across teams and promote a strong, growth-minded team culture
  • Identify technical debt and lead refactoring initiatives to improve long-term maintainability

Requirements

  • Extensive experience with Java, PostgreSQL/SQL, AWS services (including S3), and Spring Boot
  • Proven leadership within a microservice architecture environment and distributed systems
  • Skilled in designing, documenting, and integrating RESTful APIs for internal and external use
  • Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools like Temporal and observability stacks (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus)
  • Strong understanding of authentication technologies like OAuth, OIDC, and SAML
  • Experience with cloud-native platforms (AWS, Kubernetes) and infrastructure automation
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset
