Northrop Grumman Space Systems - Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Principal Engineer Software - Software Applications Test to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located at Colorado Springs, CO. The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to see the battle develop collectively, and to dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in software design and peer reviews.
  • Develop test specifications and infrastructure.
  • Execute manual and automated tests.
  • Perform analysis of C2BMC implementation in an integrated environment.
  • Test specific capabilities for interfaces or infrastructure in support of operations.
  • Conduct occasional travel between Colorado Springs facilities/sites.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related experience, or 1 year of experience with a PhD, or 9 years' experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD issued Secret security clearance at the time of application.
  • DoD 8140 certification at IAT - Level II or higher is required.
  • Prior experience in an Agile development process.
  • Prior experience testing and verifying requirements in software applications/systems.
  • Experience conducting post-processing and analysis of collected data.
  • Experience documenting software deficiency reports.
  • Experience presenting analysis results and plans of action orally and/or in written format.

Nice-to-haves

  • Automated testing for requirement verification.
  • Performance requirement and verification analysis.
  • Verification of ICD and interface requirements.
  • Experience in a DevSecOps environment.
