Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Web-Based Principal Software Engineer to join our team of skilled and diverse professionals. This role, based in Colorado Springs, CO, is crucial in supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels. Relocation assistance is not available for this position, and this role is on-site with no remote options.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for understanding documented requirements, implementing solutions, and conducting unit testing of the tools and code
  • Knowledge and experience with configuration management, software, and web development
  • Maintain existing applications and develop user interfaces and tools for internal use on C2BMC

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree and 3 years of related experience, or 1 years of related experience with a PhD. Or 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
  • Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% of the time to support business needs
  • DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher is required to start
  • Must possess knowledge of web-based software development and user interface design
  • Experience with a framework for developing web applications, such as Angular or React
  • Proficiency in Java, HTTP, JavaScript/JSON, CesiumJS, Open Source JavaScript library, WildFly/JBoss AS application server

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior work on DoD contracts, performing tools, and web development is a significant plus
  • Experience with DevOps and/or DevSecOps is a plus
  • Experience and knowledge of WAVE, Selenium, iSpace, Spring Boot, Istio, OpenShift, Kubernetes, Nginx, HashiCorp Vault, ArgoCD, FluxCD, Prometheus, Elasticsearch, Terraform/OpenTofu are highly desired
