Principal UI/UX Designer

Inspire is the first of its kind medical device designed to make a difference in the lives of those living with Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). We are revolutionizing the sleep industry with our FDA-approved medical device, designed to reduce OSA severity for those who cannot tolerate or get consistent benefit from CPAP. Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, and iterate mobile and web application designs and experiences that meet and exceed customer's expectations
• Prepare design mockups and interactive UX prototypes to facilitate exploratory research and usability testing
• Interact directly with customers through human-centered design techniques including participation in observational, primary or contextual research, interviews, and concept testing to uncover needs, learn about user behavior and explore design concepts
• Create and refine designs for products and services focused on user interfaces and user experience
• Collaborate with cross functional leaders and provide thought leadership / advocacy for the end user during the entire design process
• Consider technology, platforms, and architecture while applying human-centered techniques in design approaches
• Engage in generative design research and the translation of user/customer needs into design concepts
• Facilitate working sessions, brainstorming, design reviews and collaborative design meetings with key stakeholders
• Ensure usability standards are integrated into product development / design process in a thoughtful and customer focused approach
• Participate in developing a next generation common design language and design system, and maintenance of that system

Requirements

• A portfolio of work demonstrating excellence is required with your application.
• Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of similar experience, or advanced degree with 5+ years of similar experience
• Expert in Figma, Miro, Adobe Suite, Sketch
• Familiarity in full range of human-centered research and design techniques, including research methods, personas, journey maps, site mapping, user flows, card sorting, tree studies, interaction design using wireframes, prototyping (low- and high-fidelity) and usability testing.
• Experience participating in Agile (or other iterative methodologies) development teams as the individual who is accountable for the user interface design
• Demonstrated experience designing consumer-level mobile and web applications
• Medical user experience / medical device experience and/or healthcare experience
• Mobile design experience including knowledge of iOS screen controls, application flow and design best practices
