Our Growth & Experimentation team focuses on discovering opportunities to improve how users sign up, return, and engage with Yahoo Mail. We use experiments and data to better understand user behavior and design experiences that meet people where they are, solve real problems, and support our business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with partners to define the vision for new features.
  • Own and drive the craftsmanship for every interaction and visual design detail.
  • Work with product managers, engineers, analysts, and researchers to explore and design new experiments.
  • Create wireframes, user flows, and high-fidelity visuals to communicate ideas.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and design critiques with teammates.
  • Build and refine design prototypes to test concepts and communicate intent.
  • Support usability testing and learn from real user feedback.
  • Use data to understand what’s working (or not) and improve designs over time.
  • Collaborate with other designers to ensure consistency across surfaces and align with the design system.
  • Contribute to a culture of learning, curiosity, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of experience in product design (including internships, freelance, or academic work).
  • A portfolio that shows design process, problem solving, and visual design skills.
  • Experience designing for web or mobile platforms.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with A/B testing.
  • Experience working on growth teams.
  • Experience designing for conversion or retention.
  • Interest in content design, motion, data, or front-end tools.
