About the position

A Product Engineer I is responsible for the selection and development of manufacturing processes, creating engineering documentation and managing product costs using standardized principles and techniques. Completing basic and moderately complex Engineering tasks expediently and accurately with some supervision and oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Creates cost estimates and product manufacturing plans
  • Develops and maintains complete and accurate written records for products including routings, bills of materials and MRP item data
  • Interprets customer and CoorsTek technical drawings and quality criteria to ensure products are manufactured in accordance with the design and contract specifications
  • Creates 3D models and 2D drawings in Solidworks
  • Modifies existing 3D models and 2D drawings in Solidworks, Creo, Inventor or AutoCAD
  • Evaluates new and existing manufacturing processes for effectiveness and suggests modifications to improve efficiency
  • May participate in continuous improvement activities by identifying or developing innovative manufacturing methods or tools
  • May assist in the development, implementation, and improvement of processes to meet expected outcomes in the most cost-efficient manner

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline from an ABET accredited college / university or a combination of technical education and manufacturing experience
  • Proficient with a CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor or AutoCAD
  • Proficient with MS Office applications
  • Quickly performs detail-oriented tasks with a high degree of accuracy
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication
  • Has a general understanding of manufacturing and machining techniques and equipment
  • Has a general understanding of ceramic materials and characteristics
  • Able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds
