About the position
The Product Engineer/Specialist 2 at Primetals Technologies USA LLC is responsible for the development of roll pass schedules for the hot rolling of ferrous and non-ferrous long products. This includes creating loading parameters for rolling mill equipment, such as separating forces, torques, and powers; determining gear box ratios and corresponding torque capacities; selecting main mill motors; and developing rolling schedules that serve as a roadmap for operators of hot rolling mills. Additionally, the role involves creating details for pass distribution drawings for roll design and developing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) models to study metal deformation and resultant loads. The engineer will also be responsible for developing manuals for the operation of air-cooling conveyors that are essential for producing metallurgical properties on semi-finished steel products.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Science, or related field.
- 3 years of experience in the metals industry.
- Experience in Solidworks 3D modelling.
- Experience in Finite Element Analysis.
- Experience in manufacturing technology and processes.
- Experience in metallurgy and thermodynamics.
- Experience in ISO standards.
