The primary responsibility of this role is to plan, develop, and support the product engineering department to ensure product quality and safety, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive innovation to meet customer/market demands.

Responsibilities

  • Support collaboration between design and manufacturing teams to ensure battery cell, module, and pack designs are manufacturable and meet quality standards.
  • Assist in product investigations and troubleshooting when manufacturing processes do not meet design requirements.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and help implement corrective actions for product issues.
  • Support testing and validation efforts to verify product performance and compliance.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives based on manufacturing feedback and product data.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, quality, supply chain, and vehicle engineering.
  • Document engineering activities and maintain clear communication with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related engineering field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in product engineering or related field, preferably in battery manufacturing or automotive components.
  • Understanding of battery technologies, including cell, module, and pack design principles.
  • Experience in design support and product troubleshooting within a manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of root cause analysis tools and methodologies (TBP, FTA, etc.).
  • Design evaluation experience (DRBFM, DFMEA, etc.).
  • Process evaluation experience (QAN, PFMEA, etc.).
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively across teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with engineering software tools (e.g., CAD, data analysis software).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with electric vehicle battery systems and related standards.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing process engineering and quality systems (e.g., ISO/TS 16949).
  • Exposure to battery testing protocols and validation methods.
  • Knowledge of project management and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Battery product development / manufacturing experience.
  • Cross-functional work experience (Quality, manufacturing, engineering, maintenance).
