About the position

As a Product Manager, you'll be responsible for the administration and management of commercial lines products on behalf of 6+ decentralized business units. You'll provide commercial lines subject matter expertise in product administration and are responsible for leading product management and development activities collaborating with various stakeholders, including underwriting, actuarial, regulatory filing, information technology and compliance as well as external commercial lines entities, including Verisk and state bureaus and insurance departments. This position does not include direct underwriting P&L responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Foster cross-functional collaboration with business units, IT, compliance, actuarial, and regulatory teams.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on bureau rules, policy intent, underwriting, claims, and regulatory constraints.
  • Support product development for innovative proprietary offerings.
  • Assist in resolving proof of coverage issues in coordination with business units.
  • Ensure policy systems align with requirements through expert IT and business knowledge.
  • Create clear and accurate business requirements for system enhancements and changes.
  • Interpret regulatory updates and collaborate on enterprise-wide responses.
  • Lead complex insurance projects requiring deep industry knowledge and multifactor analysis.
  • Drive strategic initiatives to expand BRSS services and support business growth.
  • Oversee implementation results and report to stakeholders.
  • Manage regulatory relationships collaboratively with other WRB units.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of commercial Property & Casualty insurance industry experience.
  • 10+ years of underwriting or product management experience in commercial insurance on a nationwide basis or across various states.
  • Results driven leader with experience working in the field and in a staff / head office position.
  • Experience working with ISO, NCCI and other regulatory organizations.
  • Job related insurance designation preferred.
  • Knowledgeable of commercial insurance statistical reporting and analytics.
  • Experience with large, complex, and middle market risks.
  • Strong research, critical thinking, and analytic skills with attention to details.
  • Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and successfully work with all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge and experience working with policy administration systems and related technology.
