About the position

Alluvionic is seeking a mission-focused Product Manager to lead the development of advanced defense technologies from concept to deployment. You’ll translate military customer needs into clear product requirements, own the roadmap, and drive cross-functional alignment across engineering, manufacturing, and leadership. With a strong grasp of systems thinking and technical execution, you’ll conduct market research, engage with end users and DoD stakeholders, and support business development efforts through RFIs and white papers. You’ll also shape go-to-market strategies, contribute to technical messaging, and represent the product in demos, reviews, and industry events. This role blends technical leadership, customer insight, and strategic vision to deliver real-world mission impact.

Responsibilities

  • Translate DOD/military customer needs into technically feasible product requirements

  • Drive alignment between engineering, manufacturing, and leadership on scope, schedule, and deliverables
  • Conduct market research to understand acquisition trends, technology gaps, and competitive positioning
  • Engage with end users, integrators, and defense program offices to gather insights and validate product direction
  • Support business development efforts by contributing to RFIs, white papers, and solution briefs
  • Attend industry events, exercises, and demos to represent the product and gather operational feedback
  • Help prioritize markets, use cases, or programs based on ROI, technical feasibility, and strategic fit
  • Collaborate on go-to-market strategy, messaging, and product positioning
  • Contribute to marketing materials including datasheets, capability statements, demo briefs, and presentations
  • Review or co-author technical white papers, concept-of-operations documents, and proposal inputs
  • Serve as a product spokesperson in customer meetings, trade shows, and media/PR opportunities
  • Align storytelling with product capabilities for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Serve as a key voice in product planning, risk identification, and cross-functional prioritization
  • Facilitate design reviews, stage gates, and readiness assessments
  • Mentor junior team members on systems thinking, customer empathy, and disciplined execution
  • Support intellectual property strategy and technical documentation
  • Uphold a culture of accountability, transparency, and respect for requirements and schedules

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in product management or systems engineering within defense, aerospace, or deep-tech hardware environments
  • Proven ability to translate DoD/military operational needs into technically sound product requirements
  • Demonstrated success owning product roadmaps, balancing mission impact, technical milestones, and programmatic constraints
  • Strong background in requirements definition, baselining, and lifecycle traceability using modern tools (e.g., DOORS, Jira, Confluence)
  • Experience leading trade studies and contributing to system-level design with an emphasis on reliability, manufacturability, and mission fit
  • Deep understanding of DoD procurement cycles, acquisition processes, and military stakeholder engagement
