Job Description
Forcepoint Federal is seeking a Product Manager to join the Cross Domain solutions team in Herndon, VA, reporting to the Forcepoint Federal Sr. Director of Product Management. As a member of the Federal Product Management team, the Cross Domain Product Manager will support the definition of new features and product enhancements for Cross Domain guard products. Successful candidates are those who have proven experience setting strategic direction for a product line and driving individual product direction which aligns and contributes to growth of the business.
Forcepoint Federal is the leading provider of commercially available Cross Domain solutions and provides a suite of products that address the transfer of sensitive data across network security levels. Our Cross Domain systems protect customers with multiple networks containing sensitive data from being transferred to another network without proper sanitization and authorization.
Essential Functions
* Develop and implement strategy for select Cross Domain Guard products, working closely with the collective Product Management organization, the CTO office, Sales, Development and Professional Services
* Manage the associated Cross Domain Guard product management strategy, portfolio, and execution of products, including gaining agreement and alignment on product requirements and roadmaps, product development schedules, and product launches
* Set Cross Domain Guard product priorities to ensure that the business continues to lead the market with the right features, positioning, pricing and promotion, working closely with all business stakeholders
* Ensure that market feedback is documented to outline emerging customer needs, features, and functional requirements from which the marketing and development teams can design, build, test and implement new products and offerings
* Lead the Cross Domain Guard development teams through on-going product development cycles, from initial definition to final production, with products and services delivered on schedule, on budget with high quality.
* Analyze and define new market opportunities for Cross Domain Guard products
* Facilitate strong collaboration with the development teams ensuring requirements are well prioritized, implemented, and validated
* Effectively manage trade-offs between business benefit and cost/schedule
* Lead product pilot activities and customer feedback for new product enhancements
* Set and manage pricing and packaging options.
* Formulate make/buy/partnership strategies for Cross Domain Guard products
* Work with the various sales teams to train on the product offering and support ongoing opportunities as needed.
Education and Experience
* 6 years' experience in the software development/product industry with related Bachelor's degree, or 4 years' experience in the software development/product industry with related Master's degree
* Experience in using Jira/Confluence
* Ability to provide detailed reporting at the peer and executive levels
* Strong business acumen; broad familiarity with customers and company structure, and product management experience
* Ability to develop and maintain company networks to facilitate the ability to leverage broad resources across a matrixed organization
* Must be a self-starter, able to work autonomously and able to operate with minimal supervision in a highly visible, high pressure environment
* Creative and innovative troubleshooter who possesses very strong organizational skills, coordination, planning, analytical, teaming and problem-solving skills
* Have a high situational awareness, be able to effectively work multiple projects simultaneously with diverse groups and customers, and possess the ability to produce under stressful conditions using essential diplomatic skills
* Strong negotiation skills; pragmatism
* Must be willing to travel
* Experience working in B2B software preferred
* Familiarity with information assurance products preferred
