Google Product Marketing Lead, G Suite in Mountain View, California

Whether you're on a consumer product (like Gmail, Search, Maps, Chrome, Android) or a business product (AdWords, AdSense, DoubleClick, Analytics), you take part in a complete marketing experience as you lead every facet of the product's journey. From determining positioning, naming, competitive analysis, feature prioritization and external communications, you help shape the voice of the product and help it grow a loyal consumer base. This means you work with a cross-functional team across sales, corporate communications, legal, webmasters, product development, engineering and more. In this role, you'll be involved with product marketing strategy from beginning to end.

As the emerging leader in cloud computing, G Suite delivers Googles productivity products, such as Gmail, Calendar, Docs and Drive to small and large businesses, educational institutions and government agencies. The G Suite team is among a handful of rapidly emerging new businesses that are becoming front-and-center for Google as it enters its second decade as a company. In support of this mission, the G Suite marketing team develops the awareness, branding, acquisition and user education campaigns that communicate the benefits of our platform and products to enterprise customers. Within the Apps marketing team, the Product Marketing team is a small and nimble group focused on positioning, messaging and launching new products and features. As a product marketing lead on the G Suite team youll lead a team to work closely with product development teams to understand the market and needs of businesses, define goals and strategy for new and existing products, and collaborate with internal marketing, communications and sales teams to drive adoption.

Responsibilities

* Lead cross-functional projects with product and engineering partners to understand and shape new products to align to the markets they seek to address.
* Lead cross-functional projects with sales and marketing partners to integrate new products and features into the go-to-market approach and drive adoption.
* Lead the definition of key messages/narrative/positioning, contribute to branding/packaging/pricing strategy and lead the development of assets/training/enablement to support new product launches.
* Drive awareness of G Suite in the market and engage with key influencers.
* Manage, lead, grow a team of marketers responsible for a significant portion of the G Suite product portfolio.

Minimum qualifications

* BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
* 8 years of experience in product marketing, product management or related field.

Preferred qualifications

* MBA degree.
* Experience driving product marketing for a technology product launch. Interest in cloud technologies and collaboration/social software, understanding of Googles strategic and competitive position and track record. Understanding of the enterprise software development, implementation, sales and deployment cycles.
* Proven track record of building, leading and developing high performing teams.
* Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills, outstanding written and oral communication skills and aggressive attention to detail.
* Strong project management skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams of varying sizes in a fast-paced and fluid environment.
* Strong executive presence and comfort working with executive stakeholders to gather inputs, develop a point-of-view and action plan, secure cross-functional buy-in and drive execution.
