As a Product Manager, you will primarily focus on executing on the product roadmap. To be successful you will be (or become) the subject matter expert for the products you support, and have an understanding of the overall platform in which those products operate. The Product Manager acts as the primary facilitator among the development teams, the other Product Team leaders, Development Teams, and the user community (clients and operations) in support of their products.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and execute detailed requirements gathering & documentation for one/more assigned products.
  • Collaborate with the Director for prioritization based on funding and development capacity.
  • Continuously review and refine the backlog of requirements using Jira as SDLC tool.
  • Lead and facilitate all Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Provide knowledge and expertise in this business area/product to business analysts, development team members, and the user community.
  • Create and deliver communications throughout the development cycle to stakeholders at all levels, including release planning content, feature/story-level acceptance criteria new/modified functionality overviews, user guides, and release notes.
  • Monitor employee performance and provide continuous feedback for software engineers.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics, Finance, Accounting, Business or applicable experience.
  • 5+ years' experience with a strong background in Product and Development disciplines.
  • Financial Services experience, preferably FinTech experience in Asset Management or Wealth Management.
  • Experience with Agile and Iterative development methodologies.
  • Experience with software development management/tracking tools (i.e. Jira, Microsoft TFS, Rally, etc.).

  • Ability to synthesize information arising from multiple directions, and generalize specific issues or requests into functional requirements for broader application.
  • Curiosity, critical thinking and attention to detail. Solutions-oriented with strong problem solving skills.
  • Project management experience, and the self-motivation, organization and drive to manage and complete multiple projects in a timely manner without sacrificing quality.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to clearly articulate performance problems and solutions related to complex financial instruments and transactions.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience as a team lead or similar role.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously and to thrive in a project-based environment within a lean team.
  • Capacity to work within complex systems and large data sets.
