Product Owner

About the position

As a Product Owner you will be responsible for overseeing the development of products from conception to completion, ensuring they align with client needs and preferences. We are seeking a Product Owner who will be responsible for supporting the product vision, managing backlog items, and deciding on product features based on client research. This position is full-time, W2 contract that renews on a semi-annual basis, and on-site.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the development of products from start to finish to ensure they meet clients' needs and preferences.
• Support the overall vision of products and work on various backlog items.
• Participate in decisions regarding product features based on client preferences.
• Research and determine clients' needs to decide which features to include.
• Pitch ideas for product features to stakeholders.
• Act as the primary contact between cross-functional teams, vendor development departments, and stakeholders.
• Perform technical tasks such as installing vendor-provided software, uploading application content via GUI or DBU, and configuring OS settings.
• Coordinate with Cyber Security to ensure adherence to protocols.
• Work with product and project teams simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment across disparate teams.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience as a Product Owner
• In-depth knowledge of Scrum and Agile Software Development Methodology
• Working knowledge of product development architecture (SDLC)
• Proficiency in the use of analytic tools
• Ability to prioritize effectively
• Knowledge of user-centered design principles
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work with technical and operational teams
• Understanding of design quality standards
• Strong presentation skills
• Experience with client-server, web-based, cloud models
• Knowledge of relational database concepts/principles
• Basic understanding of SQL, PL/SQL, XML
• Experience with mission-critical, 24x7 systems
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
