At Micron Technology, our SSD Qualification Engineering team plays a critical role in ensuring our solid-state drives meet the highest standards of quality and performance. We work collaboratively across global teams to validate products from initial design through high-volume manufacturing, ensuring they align with internal and customer requirements. Our team is dedicated to innovation, demonstrating advanced testing methodologies and tools to drive continuous improvement. As an SSD Qualification Engineer, you will be responsible for evaluating and qualifying SSD products through rigorous testing and analysis. You will develop and implement qualification plans, debug and analyze failures, and contribute to process improvements. This role involves collaborating closely with multi-functional engineering teams to refine product requirements and boost overall quality assurance practices.

Responsibilities

  • Work with cross-functional and worldwide engineering teams to establish and refine overall product requirements.
  • Support senior engineers in technical debugging and data analysis.
  • Execute qualification tests and analyze results to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Develop and enhance test and debug tools to improve the qualification process.
  • Perform system-level and drive-level debugging using software programs, oscilloscopes, and bus analyzers.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives for the qualification process and infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Computer Engineering with 2+ years of experience, or a Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience working with embedded systems in an academic or professional environment.
  • Proficiency in Python, C, or other programming languages for test automation and debugging.
  • Hands-on experience debugging electrical systems using tools such as oscilloscopes and protocol analyzers.
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong conceptual understanding of computer architecture and SSD storage technology.
  • Experience developing and executing qualification plans for high-performance hardware.
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as ISO regulations and GMP compliance.
  • Background in system-level validation, test automation, and statistical data analysis.
  • Proven ability to drive process improvements in a manufacturing or quality assurance environment.
