About the position

This is a full-time, direct placement role at Frank M. Booth. The position involves managing a group of project managers and project engineers on the execution of projects, mentoring and training those employees. The role requires working with the estimating and engineering groups to coordinate proposals for new projects and is ultimately responsible for the financial outcome of the projects pursued/executed by their teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a group of project managers and project engineers on the execution of projects.
  • Mentor and train project managers and project engineers.
  • Work with estimating and engineering groups to coordinate proposals for new projects.
  • Ensure all FMB contractual commitments are met.
  • Execute work professionally and ensure client expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Review labor productivity and job cost progress.
  • Provide constructability and technical guidance as needed.
  • Monitor and review subcontractor performance across projects.
  • Provide change management oversight and guidance.
  • Train and develop project managers and project engineers on best practices.
  • Encourage inter-disciplinary activities between operations and other company segments.
  • Engage existing clients regarding future projects.
  • Ensure general contractor and owner expectations are met.
  • Lead marketing personnel for FMB and report on project pursuits and new client acquisition.
  • Work with estimating manager to create budgets and estimates for projects.
  • Responsible for final proposal language and responses to clients.
  • Work directly with engineering for project setup and design development.
  • Responsible for all contract negotiations and terms.
  • Participate actively with management on company focus and profitability.
  • Develop and lead the company into new business areas.
  • Promote FMB to owners, developers, general contractors, and architects.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Bluebeam.
  • Skilled in project management and construction management software including Primavera (P6), Microsoft Project, Procore, Prolog, and Vista by Viewpoint.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Proficient in budget creation/management, scheduling, estimating, preconstruction, and construction management.
  • Multiple years in project management.
  • Knowledge of estimating (preferred to have worked in estimating for a period of time).
  • Knowledge of engineering (preferred to have worked in engineering department for a period of time).
  • Ability to work well with all departments, including direct leadership over project management group.
  • High school diploma or GED required; 4-year degree in construction management or mechanical engineering preferred.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other standards.
