PSG Product Development Engineer

About the position

The PSG Product Development Engineer is responsible for managing the commercialization, quality & value engineering for OEM & Alternative Channel products. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring that products meet customer requirements and comply with all necessary standards throughout the development process.

Responsibilities

• Use technical knowledge to create product specifications that meet all customer requirements.
• Responsible for ensuring overall product compliance within the development process; will collaborate with other functional resources at each step and report-out project updates.
• Create test plans to ensure product meets the full range of requirements; troubleshoot and resolve issues as required to ensure product meets testing requirements.
• Work with marketing to develop claims and substantiate through validation testing.
• Initiate and own specification & manufacturing builds to determine the validity of the design through the manufacturing process, report-out design review and product validation.
• Actively participates in product development teams dedicated to ensuring the product is meeting the organization's key metrics for performance, margin, and consumer and retailer satisfaction.
• Support new production processes and launches to ensure product is manufactured according to design, safety, and quality specifications.
• Assists in PD initiatives, communicates with customers and other resources as required to support product development initiatives and rollout. Provides design and technical expertise as needed.
• Other duties as needed to support overall strategy and success of product development initiatives and rollout.
