Radiation Therapist

About the position

Sentara Healthcare is currently hiring a Radiation Oncology Therapist to work at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, a Level One Trauma Center in Norfolk, VA. This position will provide radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist according to established practices and standards. Duties may include reviewing prescription and diagnosis; acting as liaison with physician and supportive care personnel; preparing equipment, such as immobilization, treatment, and protection devices; and maintaining records, reports, and files. New graduates are required to pass boards within 6 months of hire. Applicants who completed an approved certification program prior to 2016 in lieu of associates degree will also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist.
• Review prescription and diagnosis.
• Act as liaison with physician and supportive care personnel.
• Prepare equipment, such as immobilization, treatment, and protection devices.
• Maintain records, reports, and files.

Requirements

• Associate's Level Degree - Radiologic Technology REQUIRED
• ARRT Registered (preferred) or ARRT eligible REQUIRED
• BLS REQUIRED
• New graduates required to pass boards within 6 months of hire.
