Responsibilities

  • Inspects purchased parts and materials for conformity to standards, specifications, and processing requirements within an electronic manufacturing environment.
  • Inspects for proper identity and dimensions using measuring devices such as micrometers, gauges, and calipers.
  • Visually inspects for obvious defects or damage such as corrosion, cracks, dents, scratches, and pits.
  • Verifies specifications using purchase orders, blueprints, drawings, or inspection instructions, and checklists.
  • Makes pass/fail decisions on inspected goods.
  • Conducts incoming visual inspection on materials with respect to correct identification, verification of condition, identification of defects, accuracy of engineering specifications, and applicable customer requirements.
  • Reviews all supplied documentation for material acceptance per engineering requirements.
  • Provides feedback to engineers and buyers regarding inspection data.
  • Documents, tracks, and completes discrepancy reports.
  • Supports continuous improvement processes/initiatives within areas of responsibility.
  • Maintains traceability and document control for inspection records.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to achieving organizational quality goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrates good material handling practices.
  • Utilizes computers for a wide variety of material processing activities within area of responsibility.
  • Assists the Quality Manager/Quality Team with initiatives and assignments as needed.
  • Maintains positive team relationships with internal and external customers, as well as co-workers.

Requirements

  • Read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings.
  • Ability to use measurement tools and calibration equipment.
  • Multi-tasking abilities.
  • Experience working with small parts and good manual dexterity.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office and ability to learn other database systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2+ years of experience in a Quality Inspection role.
  • 1+ years of experience in Electronics Manufacturing.
  • 1+ years of experience working with LEAN processes and practices.
  • 1+ years of experience with ISO (AS9100, ISO13485, etc.) requirements.
