The Hem/Onc Infusion-Bone Marrow department cares for oncology patients who have undergone stem cell transplants and require specialized, ongoing support throughout their recovery. Nurses in this area provide a blend of clinic‑based patient care and infusion services, allowing for strong continuity and meaningful patient relationships. Infusions on this unit include a range of therapies such as magnesium, potassium, blood products, chemotherapy, and other supportive or immunotherapy treatments.This unit offers RNs the opportunity to develop advanced oncology and infusion skills while working closely with an interdisciplinary team to deliver highly personalized, life‑changing care. Nursing skills gained: Central line access and care Safe chemotherapy administration practices Immunotherapy and biologic infusion skills Blood product administration proficiency Managing electrolyte replacement infusions Monitoring complex oncology patients Recognizing and responding to infusion reactions Coordinating multidisciplinary cancer care Patient education on treatment plans Supporting stem cell transplant recovery Unit Successes/Designations/National recognition: Commission on Cancer Care- COC accreditation. Requirements

Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
Minimum of one year of RN experience
