The RN for the Indiana WIC Program plays a key role in supporting pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding families through compassionate, client‑centered care. This position provides evidence‑based breastfeeding support, nutrition assessments, tailored education, and community referrals while maintaining a welcoming clinic environment. The nurse will also represent WIC through community outreach, collaborating with local partners, and promote healthy feeding and nutrition practices. Responsibilities include accurate documentation, creating individualized food prescriptions, ensuring confidentiality, and participating in staff training and meetings. This role is ideal for an RN passionate about community health, education, and making a meaningful impact on families. Main clinic locations are in Spencer and Martinsville, IN. Schedule: 8-5pm two days a week with no weekends or holidays !

Requirements

Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN)
Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
Knowledge of procedures for performing the functions appropriate to the specific clinical area and familiarity with designated pieces of equipment and supplies.
Requires ability to coordinate a number of functions for a group of patients in an effective timely manner.
Requires awareness and understanding of legal implications of patient care activities and performance as a Registered Nurse.
Requires ability to assess patients without face-to-face interaction.

Nice To Haves

Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Two years experience in an ambulatory setting preferred.
