About the position

The Rental Attendant at the Powder Landing is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to all guests utilizing equipment and the clubhouse facilities. This role ensures a smooth and enjoyable experience for visitors by managing equipment use, maintaining it, and upholding a high standard of cleanliness and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Greet all guests with a friendly and welcoming demeanor.
  • Assist guests with equipment selection, providing information on usage, safety guidelines, and policies.
  • Answer questions about the lake, clubhouse amenities, and local attractions.
  • Handle guest inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Inspect all equipment (e.g., kayaks, paddleboards, life vests, bicycles) before and after each use for damage or wear.
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance on equipment as needed.
  • Ensure all equipment is clean, properly stored, and readily available for use.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of all equipment.
  • Stage equipment on the beach for easy guest access and return.
  • Ensure necessary waivers have been completed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized use area and clubhouse common areas.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures for the clubhouse, including securing equipment and facilities.
  • Put out and arrange outdoor lawn furniture.
  • Display and maintain retail items for sale.
  • Monitor guest activity to ensure adherence to safety regulations and clubhouse policies.
  • Communicate effectively with other staff members to ensure seamless operations.
  • Complete daily reports and logs as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a recreational or hospitality setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer proficiency for processing transactions and maintaining records.
  • Knowledge of water safety and recreational equipment is a plus.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment, stand for extended periods, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
