About the position

The Matthews Granite Sales & Marketing Intern provides support to the Sales and Marketing team and works on a variety of special projects. This internship provides an opportunity to learn about the fundamentals of working within the Sales and Marketing teams at Matthews Granite. The Intern's primary responsibility will be contributing to the development, completion and presentation of the FY2026 Sales and Marketing Plan for the Granite Division of Matthews International. The intern will have the opportunity to gain knowledge of the granite memorial industry and interact directly with business unit leadership, customers and other business professionals throughout the internship.

Responsibilities

  • Supports day-to-day operations of the Matthews Granite Sales & Marketing department, developing a general understanding of all aspects of the granite memorial business including systems and processes.
  • Gains exposure to the granite memorial production process from raw material through finished product.
  • Primary focus will be working with and supporting the Sales & Marketing department.
  • Helps create the FY2026 Sales and Marketing Plan.
  • Provides assistance with special projects as needed, including development of digital assets and social media content.
  • Additional duties are assigned.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree program in a related field such as Business, Marketing or Sales at a recognized college or university.
  • High/Basic degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook, Internet and Social Media applications.
  • Strong/Basic analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
  • Strong/Basic verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
  • Solid/Basic understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, and with internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary.
  • Must have current driver's license, reliable transportation and be willing to travel.
