The hourly wage ranges from $21.15 to $21.63, which translates to an annual salary of approximately $44,000 to $45,000. This entry-level professional role involves performing a variety of duties that follow established policies and procedures, with actions that may have a measurable impact on operations. The individual will resolve problems by selecting from approved alternatives based on past practices, established procedures, or direction. The position primarily involves executing routine procedures under the guidance of senior staff and generally reports to a manager or higher, without supervising others. The role includes working with students.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a range of communications and/or marketing related work including print, social media, web content, or multi-media.
  • Create and disseminate content for internal/external audiences through various media, subject to approval by higher-level professionals.
  • Coordinate and implement communication activities.
  • Assist in implementing marketing strategies by preparing proposals, presentations, and communication materials.
  • Coordinate the distribution of internal and external marketing literature.
  • Assist in writing and editing sales and marketing materials, including articles, presentations, white papers, and collateral.
  • Assist in promotional strategies and product development, distributing communications such as press releases according to the communications calendar.
  • Update and manage company websites and social media accounts, ensuring consistency with branding and marketing objectives.
  • Develop marketing collateral including brochures, presentations, social media posts, and website content.
  • Manage the content calendar and ensure timely publication across various channels.
  • Oversee content creation projects or collaborate with designers and writers.
  • Manage the School's social media accounts and create engaging content, tracking and analyzing engagement metrics.
  • Develop and maintain an outreach calendar for each academic year and assist with planning outreach activities.
  • Work with student club leadership on their participation in outreach activities.
  • Assist with developing and promoting a consistent brand message that integrates with broader university branding.
  • Ensure all marketing materials comply with brand guidelines.
  • Assist with planning, promoting, and marketing School events.
  • Draft press releases and other communication materials, monitoring industry trends and preparing reports for marketing leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a job-related field plus 6+ years of work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for crafting clear, concise, and engaging messages across various channels.
  • Active listening skills to understand audience needs and tailor communication accordingly.
  • Understanding of core marketing concepts like target audience, brand positioning, and marketing channels.
  • Ability to create and manage engaging content that resonates with the target audience.
  • Ability to conduct basic market research to understand trends, competitor analysis, and customer insights.
  • Proficiency in marketing automation tools, email marketing platforms, and content management systems (CMS).
  • Understanding of social media platforms, content creation strategies, and community management.
  • Familiarity with design software like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
  • Strong organization and time management skills to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to plan, execute, and track marketing and communication campaigns.
  • Ability to work effectively with team members from different departments (design, sales, etc.).
  • Problem-solving skills to identify and troubleshoot issues during campaigns.
  • Creativity to develop innovative marketing and communication strategies.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy and high quality in all communication materials.
  • Ability to stay up-to-date with the latest marketing trends and technologies.
