About the position

Hamilton High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate High School Science Teacher to join our dynamic educational team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore the wonders of science while fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment. This full-time position requires a commitment to academic excellence and a desire to motivate students to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Open until filled.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and curriculum guidelines.
  • Teach a variety of science subjects, including biology, chemistry, physics, and environmental science.
  • Create and maintain a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
  • Assess and evaluate student performance through tests, assignments, and projects, providing timely feedback to support their growth.
  • Utilize innovative teaching methods and technology to enhance student learning experiences.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and initiatives that promote scientific inquiry.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events.
  • Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and protocols.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science Education, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certification or license in the state of Montana.
  • Proven experience teaching high school science, preferably in a classroom setting.
  • Strong knowledge of scientific concepts and the ability to convey complex ideas to students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and digital tools to enhance learning.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • A passion for science education and a commitment to fostering a love of learning in students.
