About The Position

As a Security Officer Hospital Access Control in Brea, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will assist with access control, communicate clearly with staff, patients, and visitors, and document activity using a computer or tablet. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be able to meet hospital vaccine requirements.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting concerns to site leadership and/or emergency services as directed by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including corridors, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter, helping to deter unauthorized access and/or disruptive activity.
  • Monitor access points and observe for unusual conditions, completing security-related reports and documenting incidents, hazards, and/or maintenance issues per site requirements.
  • Assist with security-related checks such as rounds on restricted areas, support during patient and/or visitor disputes, and coordination with clinical staff during facility alerts and/or evacuations as directed.
