About the position

The part-time Security Officer 1 position at Roane State Community College involves maintaining good working relationships with local law enforcement and emergency management agencies, enforcing campus policies, and completing preliminary offense reports when necessary. Responsibilities

• Maintains good working relationships with local law enforcement agencies and emergency management agencies.
• Enforces campus policies and procedures.
• Completes preliminary offenses reports when those are committed on campus and a certified police officer is unavailable.
• Forwards reports to a certified officer for investigation and completion.
• Properly uses and maintains all law enforcement equipment.
• Accurately prepares reports and performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Tennessee operator license issued by the Tennessee Department of Safety.
• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• Must be a citizen of the United States.
• Must not have been convicted of or pleaded guilty to any felony charge or violations relating to force, violence, theft, dishonesty, gambling, liquor, or controlled substances.
• Must not have been released or discharged under any other than honorable discharge from the armed forces.
• Must have a good moral character as determined by a thorough investigation.
