About the position

The position involves working directly with the Director of Environmental Services, Principals, engineering staff, and both current and prospective clients to implement business development strategies. Responsibilities include performing market research, managing the proposal development process, and attending industry associations, conferences, and trade shows to network with potential clients. The role also requires preparing qualifications packages and proposals, maintaining project sheets and client databases, generating leads, managing marketing coordinators, and leading office-level marketing initiatives. Additionally, the position involves expanding market opportunities through research and competitive analysis, supporting business development efforts, assisting with proposal writing, coordinating RFP responses, tracking leads, pursuing grant funding opportunities, and contributing to federal business development efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the Director of Environmental Services, Principals, engineering staff, and both current and prospective clients to implement business development strategies
  • Perform market research and manage the proposal development process, including writing, editing, and submitting proposals within deadlines
  • Attend industry associations, conferences, and trade shows to network with potential clients
  • Prepare qualifications packages and proposals (familiarity with SF330 is a plus)
  • Maintain and update project sheets, resumes, and client databases
  • Generate and follow up on leads as part of business development efforts
  • Manage and mentor marketing coordinators
  • Lead office-level marketing initiatives to improve strategic positioning and market visibility
  • Expand and diversify market opportunities by conducting research and competitive analysis
  • Support business development efforts within your geographic area, as applicable
  • Assist with proposal writing (e.g., scoping and drafting proposals based on provided specs)
  • Coordinate RFP responses in collaboration with the Marketing team
  • Track and pursue leads via platforms like BidPrime and through local conservation districts
  • Support preparation and submission of RIMS bids
  • Track and pursue grant funding opportunities
  • Mine local GMT office proposals and projects for piggyback or teaming opportunities
  • Manage and monitor term contracts for potential work
  • Contribute to federal business development efforts and bid coordination

Requirements

  • BS in Business Administration, Marketing, or similar, preferred
  • 8-10 years of marketing experience
