About the position

Established in 1980, TERI (Training, Education & Resource Institute) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals with developmental and learning disabilities through innovative programs and services. Through our locations in Oceanside and San Marcos, 13 residential homes and county-wide respite services, we empower our clients to achieve their highest potential. Currently experiencing transformational growth as an organization, TERI seeks a collaborative, dynamic Senior Marketing Leader to join our team. This role will head a functional department and be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing and communication strategies to support our mission, enhance our brand, and drive fundraising and revenue growth to meet goals. The ideal candidate will have a passion for impactful work alongside a proven track record in marketing leadership, with expertise in cause marketing and fundraising, strategic branding and messaging, leading cross-functional teams, content development and event management.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with executive and department leadership to develop and implement marketing strategies and messaging that align with TERI's mission and achieve organizational goals.
  • Partner with development and social enterprises departments to drive fundraising and revenue growth through strategic marketing and partnership development.
  • Create a culture of collaboration, building and managing organizational feedback mechanisms and cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive and effective marketing efforts across departments and market targets.
  • Develop and manage departmental budget and suggest options for maximizing marketing ROI.
  • Collaborate with executive and departmental leadership to develop and manage annual event schedule to promote the organization, raise funding and increase visibility and impact in relevant local and regional communities.
  • Manage brand identity and lead initiatives to enhance the organization's visibility and reputation to support goal achievement.
  • Direct and manage integration and effective use of CRM data and other departmental data sources with online marketing tools to develop and deploy successful marketing campaigns to meet organizational goals.
  • Develop and direct content development, including internal/external messaging, grants, print and social media content and creative asset creation.
  • Working closely with existing marketing team members, create and direct annual marketing calendar and deploy strategic campaigns across various channels, including digital, print, and social media.
  • Monitor and analyze quarterly and annual marketing performance metrics to optimize strategies, achieve business goals and demonstrate overall marketing ROI.
  • Manages company website updates, new content, donation forms, blog posts, and event ticketing and facilitates redesign and implementation working closely with web design vendors as needed.
  • Conduct search engine optimization, website updates, social media and email automation.
  • Works closely with local media and press to determine and select newsworthy subjects in line with strategic goals for promoting company, events and campaigns.
  • Participates in developing strategic prospect communication materials for campaigns, including grant proposals, storyboards and correspondence.
  • Protects TERI clients' rights, safety, health, and welfare and best interest at all times.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading an organization's marketing function.
  • Non-profit experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in leading marketing efforts for organizations (non-profit or otherwise) with complex market segmentation.
  • Experience driving revenue for retail, hospitality, service industries and multiple business lines a plus.
  • Proven expertise in strategic planning, branding, content development, events and fundraising.
  • Exceptional project management skills with the ability to develop and execute major events, multi-channel marketing campaigns and strategic initiatives.
  • Experience understanding, organizing and prioritizing potentially conflicting goals and communicating direction clearly to organizational stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills.
  • Media training/experience a plus.
  • Proficiency in tools and platforms such as HubSpot, Mail Chimp, WordPress, Canva, Bloomerang, Asana, Monday, Adobe Creative Suite, PowerPoint, Google Suite, and Microsoft 365.
  • Experience integrating and deploying CRM, fundraising and marketing platforms and tools a significant plus.
