The Senior Manager, Lifecycle Product Management is responsible for overseeing the lifecycle product management team and portfolio - focusing on product portfolio growth, optimization, and eventual retirement. This role is focused on driving product success by ensuring alignment with business objectives, customer needs, competitive threats, and market trends throughout the product lifecycle. The Manager will lead a team of lifecycle product managers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to maximize product value to our customers. The successful candidate will be a self-starter; this individual must be adaptable, persuasive, tenacious and perceptive and be able to execute a well-developed plan.

Responsibilities

  • The position has responsibility for the growth and business success of an assigned product line life cycle and/or product category.
  • Manage other product managers, developing strategies and managing tactical execution of product growth.
  • Deliver management objectives, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive lifecycle strategies for products, including planning for introduction, growth, maturity, and retirement phases.
  • Monitor and assess product performance, market trends, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of product managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
  • Provide both guidance and support to team members in managing the product portfolio.
  • Work closely with engineering, marketing, sales, customer support, and other departments to ensure ongoing success of the portfolio.
  • Act as a key liaison between business units and technical teams to translate market needs into actionable product requirements.
  • Support supply chain hygiene by limiting exposure to old products, components and goods.
  • Drive SKU reductions to optimize offering and ease of purchase for customers.
  • Work closely with Product Marketing and Marketing Communications in positioning of products, and driving differentiation whenever possible.
  • Responsible for appropriate pricing of the portfolio, globally, and works with the regional pricing teams to drive adjustments as needed.
  • Conduct competitive analysis, market research, and customer interviews to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges.
  • Use insights to refine product strategies and ensure alignment with customer expectations.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and team effectiveness.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for stakeholders to communicate progress, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Plan and execute product transitions, updates, and retirements to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop strategies to minimize disruption and maximize value during product transitions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 12+ years' Product Management experience, including at least 3 years managing multiple product managers in related discipline or technology industry.
  • Experience in electronics or handheld devices or smart devices or hardware products.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong ability to interact with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills including written, verbal and oral presentation skills.
  • Ability to assess complex market landscape and create focused, integrated product and solutions plan.
  • Understanding of financial concepts including P&L, balances sheets, and ROI models.
  • Advanced market knowledge in assigned product vertical, category or technology or solutions.
  • Strong planning and execution skills.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft business applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to visit customers, partners, attend seminars, trade shows or meet area sales personnel.
